Definition
Triangulation is the tactic of becoming desirable by being visibly desired by others. The seducer ensures the target sees, or hears of, rivals and admirers — turning a one-on-one relationship into a triangle in which the target competes for what others also want.
It is social proof applied deliberately. Rather than persuading the target of their own worth, the seducer lets the apparent judgment of a crowd do the persuading. Value seems confirmed from the outside, which makes it far more convincing than any self-promotion.

How it works
The seducer makes their popularity visible: other admirers are mentioned, displayed, or simply allowed to be seen. The target shifts from asking "do I want this person" to "can I win this person" — a more anxious and motivating question. Lukewarm interest sharpens into pursuit.
Often the rivals need not be genuine. The impression of demand is what matters, and impressions are cheap to manufacture. The target's imagination, once primed, supplies the rest.
