Forms a secure pair of fixed loops in the middle of a rope without needing either end — useful when both ends are anchored or out of reach.
Steps: 1. Make a bight in the rope. 2. Tie a starting overhand loop as for a normal bowline, using the bight as the working end. 3. Pass the loop of the bight back over the whole knot. 4. Draw it down behind the standing parts and tighten — you are left with two fixed loops.
